Hard to believe we are already in the last three working weeks of the year! 2011 has been a busy one for Zoomedia clients and even now in December our slate of projects shows little sign of slowing down. All of our activity reflects positively on our clients success, many of whom have achieved significant milestones this year. We have also seen new trends emerging across the sector that look set to continue in to 2012. Here's a sample of what we've been up to and where we see interactive communications trends going in 2012:

Regeneron - throughout 2011 we have been working with Regeneron on multiple projects to communicate with patients, physicians, investors, media and employees on the company's continuing transformation from an R&D company to a commercial entity. Starting in January we developed an investor presentation for the JP Morgan Annual Healthcare conference. We then created the company's annual report and started work on a new corporate website built on the Zoomedia CMS to be launched at the end of the year.

November saw the approval of EYLEA™ (aflibercept) Injection for the treatment of patients with neovascular (Wet) Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) so it's been an exciting time to work with the Regeneron team as their years of hard work start to pay off with commercial success!

Medtronic - During 2011 we continued our work supporting the marketing teams at with email campaigns and rich media landing pages to drive interest in new data and new products in the stents market. New projects include the development of MedtronicEndovascular.com for the OUS market and an internal SharePoint-based training site. The iPad continues to be Medtronic's sales tool of choice and we are developing communications strategies and projects that make best use of this tool in a medical sales context.

InterMune - We have been working with InterMune throughout the year to support the launch of Esbriet® in the EU and to build out a new corporate website and country-specific  website templates as the product becomes available across Europe. As InterMune transforms into a commercially-focused enterprise we have also built out a new SharePoint intranet to facilitate communication and operations across the US and EU teams.

Summer saw a flurry of new client activity adding Medivation, Theravance, Geron, Achillion and PTC Therapeutics to our roster. Projects range from physician education websites, corporate websites, MOA illustrations and investor presentations.

Our 2011 client projects reflect several trends we are seeing in our 2012 pipeline with more clients rolling out global branding standards and executing comprehensive communications strategies that include US, EU and Asia. We continue to see SharePoint hold market share as the internal communications platform of choice while our own Content Management System holds strong for external interactive marketing and communications projects and of course the iPad continues to lead the pack in presenting new opportunities to directly engage with customers.

Also on our list of new marketing opportunites are programs that include the use of Quick Response or QR codes to drive customers to marketing information on their smart phones - we'll be experimenting with this in 2012 and expect that this tactic will rapidly become standard practice in the way that adding a website URL to your print materials did ten years ago.

As we move towards 2012 we are planning a pipeline of client projects in iPad development for clients sales and marketing teams, SharePoint development for company intranets, custom web applications to drive operational efficienciesglobal communication strategies as companies launch and manage products across multiple countries and regions and corporate branding and positioning as clients continue to meet their goals and advance their products to the market.
