JPM 2012 - Update
So far at JPM the biggest and most shocking but then makes sense moment was actually not being able to go in the front door to the St Francis without a badge - unless of course you are me and know the "secret" way in :)
The next big news was the BMS $2.5 billion acquisition of Inhibitex that drove action to both Idenix Pharmaceuticals and Achillion Pharmaceuticals and questions about the price Gilead paid for Pharmassett. Hep C continues to be a hot ticket in 2012.
Also, continuing to be reality not just buzz is the growing interest in rare diseases with Sunday night's EveryLife Foundation event sold out and everyone from Pfizer to Biomarin and many patient advocates networking and wine tasting up in the Starlight Room at the Sir Francis Drake. Top notch Napa and Sonoma wines and plush red velvet banquettes and chandeliers certainly helped! This year's conference includes the largest-ever contingent of not-for-profits and the second year of a fully dedicated China track on Wednesday.
If you can't be there in person this year there is a constant stream of content online both from attendees and media including:
