Description:
Zoomedia, Inc., a leading life science interactive agency is hiring an Art Director. The AD will lead the design team in the creation and development of online communications programs, online advertising, sci-entific illustrations and animations, and web applications. The AD will be an integral part of the produc-tion team, and will collaborate with the Creative Director, copywriters, technical and engineering staff, account managers, and clients.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tools and technologies currently used in web-based communications and demonstrate interest and experience in the life science field.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and communicate with internal and external client teams during all stages of design and production
- Participate in and lead brainstorming and concept development sessions
- Lead development of information architecture, user-interface and graphic design
- Maintain and share knowledge of current graphic processing techniques and new advances in design software
Job Requirements:
- At least eight years of experience working for an interactive agency, preferably within the life sciences
- A high level of comfort and confidence collaborating with senior team members both internally and externally, and presenting to C-level client teams
- Experience managing graphic artists in an internal team environment and working with outside graphic talent
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- BA/BS required
Technical Requirements:
- Experience with the latest versions of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat
- Flash experience including understanding of advanced action scripting (AS 2+)
- Motion graphic experience including understanding of editing programs such as AfterEffects and Final Cut Pro
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/XML/AJAX design principles and standards in addition how to de-sign for content management systems
- Working knowledge of design principles for sites optimized for accessibility
- Experience developing for Adobe Flex/Air and mobile platforms is a plus
