Description:
Job Summary:
- Transparently support company mission by assisting other departments with their technology needs
- Support Macintosh and PC workstations
- Promote the utility, reliability, stability, and security of the Macintosh and PC platforms
- Provide a high level of customer service
Responsibilities:
- Resolve support requests
- Install, upgrade, and maintain software, hardware, and peripherals
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems
- Support software use, including but not limited to: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, FileMaker, Microsoft Project, Word, Excel Power Point, Access and Outlook, Thunderbird, Entourage, and Windows Server Mac OS X Server
- Troubleshoot network and remote access connectivity problems
- Perform general system maintenance and support
- Produce documentation as needed
- Train end-users as needed
Qualifications & Experience:
- One year of related experience
- Ability to troubleshoot Mac and PC hardware and Software problems, including problems with workstations, servers, drives, cards, printers, scanners, and other peripherals
- Proficiency with Mac utilities, and Microsoft Suite of products
- Understanding of networking standards (TCP/IP, DNS, etc…), IT hardware, and Microsoft-based software/systems.
- Organization and attention to detail
- Experience supporting end users on Mac, Windows and Linux
- Ability to follow through on support requests in a timely manner, escalating to other members of the team when appropriate
- Ability to work responsibly with or without direct supervision.
- Ability to prioritize and address multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work independently and with other members of a team
- Ability to lift and carry computers and monitors
- Ability to communicate technical issues in non-technical terms
- Proven oral and written communication skills
Job Requirements:
Associates Degree in computer science, information technology or a related field or equivalent experience in general computer installation, maintenance and repair experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job as listed above.
