Responsibilities of the Director of Sales:
- Provide leadership to the sales department including the day-to-day management of the sales team and the provision of strategic guidance and counsel that will assist clients in meeting their business objectives
- Meet and exceed sales targets on a quarterly and annual basis
- Drive the sales process from initial contact with prospect through contract closing to successful project handover to the internal production team
- Develop online strategic proposals that include writing strategy, working with the management team to drive proposed direction, project scoping, and pricing
- Write proposals, strategy documents and client correspondence
- Exhibit broad understanding of the interactive development industry, leading trends, and changes specifically within the life science business climate
- Solid understanding of “big picture” client program; maintain awareness of future client events and activities and how they relate to overall objective/target
- Build and develop a team by mentoring, coaching, educating and managing your direct reports
Job Requirements:
The Director of Sales:
- Has an established and proven record of closing new business in a technology-focused agency and preferably within the life science space
- Has a demonstrated track record of developing and executing successful online marketing, web application, and social media programs as well as managed a significant number of traditional Web builds
- Should be well versed in client relations including having the ability to understand and assess a client’s business needs and communication needs and meet those needs through successful online programs, whatever the strategies might be
- Should be well versed in managing people and the execution of online projects and builds. The Director of Sales should be a thought leader in interactive strategies and tactics.
- Must believe in their convictions and be able to support opinions and recommendations with substantive arguments
- Must have a team player attitude
- Possess strong leadership qualities and capacity to effectively manage a team
- Should have at least five years’ related experience and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
