Zoomedia, Inc., Announces New President

Life Sciences Agency Appoints Barbara Lavery to President, Board of Directors

Zoomedia, Inc., the leading communications agency for the life sciences industry, announced the appointment of Barbara Lavery, as President, effective immediately. Ms. Lavery has also been appointed to the Zoomedia Board of Directors.

Ms. Lavery, who formerly served as Senior VP, Business Development, will bring extensive experience in life sciences communications to her new role. Ms. Lavery has served in every capacity of production and management during her eight years at Zoomedia, including design and production management, sales and marketing, brand development, and strategic consulting.

“Barbara Lavery has built a great service offering and an impressive portfolio of life sciences clients at Zoomedia. Her passion for building the business is equaled by her commitment to helping client companies communicate with all of their constituencies – from investors to patients. As a member of Zoomedia’s Board of Directors, I am proud and delighted to have her as President of the company,” said John Pritzker, President of Geolo Investment Group.

In her role as SVP, Business Development, Ms. Lavery has been successful in building relationships with key organizations in the life sciences. These include corporate leaders like Chiron and Gilead Sciences, non-profit organizations such as Epilepsy.com and FasterCures, and venture capital companies supporting the life sciences industry.

“As a long-term client of Zoomedia, I can think of no better person to fulfill this role. I look forward to supporting Zoomedia’s continued growth as the leading communications agency for the life sciences, with Barbara at the helm,” said Steve Burrill, CEO of Burrill & Company.

In the last six months, Ms. Lavery has served alongside Mr. Burrill and other industry leaders on the San Francisco Mayor’s Biotech Committee. Ms. Lavery was instrumental in helping San Francisco win the statewide contest to host the Center for Regenerative Medicine, the organization mandated by the citizens of California to spend $3 billion to accelerate stem cell research in the state.

“Barbara did a fantastic job spearheading the effort to win the stem cell center,” said Russell Levine, former CEO of Zoomedia, Inc. “She brings the same commitment, critical thinking, and focus to everything she does, and I’m confident she will continue to build the company successfully.”

“This is a tremendous opportunity to lead a great company to new levels of performance and success,” said Ms. Lavery. “My goal is to ensure that we continue to be a leader in communications for the life science industry through passion and innovation, while never losing sight of our customer’s right to excellent service.”
