InAwe Awards in Dallas, TX
Posted by Vanessa Silva on June 11, 2008 at 7:30 am

Last week Ben Hewett (Zoomedia's Creative Director) and I went to Dallas, TX to collect an InAwe award for our work on the Medtronic Endeavor Stent campaign (see in our portfolio). We joined the best and the brightest in this annual event that highlights the most innovative and effective marketing in the medical and life science field. Agencies got a little recognition from their clients and everyone had a good time in an atmosphere of healthy competition and camaraderie. Needless to say, there were a few after-hours discussions about clients, projects and trends in the industry at the hotel bar - a rare opportunity for agencies, pharma execs and marketers to talk shop outside of the conference room and get to know each other better.

An interesting topic the evening after the event was, that despite the impact of lukewarm economy, there seems to be a general ‘curiosity’ and openness from our clients in the in the exploring the use of rich media such as video content, interactive animations and web 2.0 tools for multilateral communications with patients. A few of the campaigns that were awarded in the InAwe ceremony had some impressive examples of these emerging trends, such as Astellas Pharma's Protopic "Itchcraft" campaign.

At Zoomedia, we have been integrating Flash Video components and creating truly interactive websites for patients, physicians, investors. Some of this work can be seen on www.cytokinetics.com. We are also working on several projects that use Flash Video as a training and collaboration tool for nurses, advocacy partners, and yes, even board members : )

Ben and I returned to San Francisco with another InAwe award to add to our collection and a renewed passion to keep creating the kind of excellent work that not only wins awards but gets us back to work and raring to go on our next project!
